  • OGame Update – A Major Technical Evolution Begins




    Commanders,


    We're preparing one of the most significant technical updates in OGame's history - a step that will not only improve your current experience but also shape the future of the game.


    What we're preparing

    To ensure the best possible rollout, we'll introduce:

    • A brand-new PTS round running on the same hardware setup as LIVE, giving us results as close to reality as possible
    • A “copy to PTS” feature, allowing you to bring your LIVE account into the test environment with ease on Wednesday (this setting has been deactivated from Alpha)
    • A mostly rewritten codebase covering nearly all OGame features (with only a few exceptions like chat)
    • Noticeable performance improvements, mainly due to significantly fewer backend calls
    • A variety of existing issues have already been resolved as a natural result of rebuilding the system


    What this version brings

    Behind the scenes, this update represents a major leap forward:

    • A new centralized data system that changes how technologies, bonuses, and player data are handled
    • A shift from a historically grown, fragmented structure to a cleaner, unified architecture
    • More efficient calculations, eliminating redundant processing across the game
    • Faster loading times, smoother gameplay, and more consistent values across all platforms
    • A strong foundation that enables faster feature development, more precise fixes, and continuous improvements
    • A future-proof system that frees us from the limitations of outdated structures


    PTS Launch & Participation

    • The new update will be deployed on a new Public Test Server (PTS) server, Singularity, on May 13 around 14:00 CEST.
    • A dedicated section on the Origin community forum will be created for feedback and bug reporting
    • Bug hunter rewards will be granted only for well-documented and confirmed reports submitted in the Origin forum section (all languages are accepted, but English is preferred

    • Expedition Bundle 30d (includes Expedition Slot Items, Expedition Turbo 100%, Expedition Computer, and Expedition Resources Booster)

    - Fixed empire view not working correctly on some accounts.

    - Fixed an error showing up when trying to change your name on the profile page.

    - Fixed the feedback overlay not being displayed correctly.

    - Fixed the Geologist having the wrong icon on the resource settings page.

    - Fixed the +10 building queue button for lifeform buildings deducting resources for queued buildings right away.

    - Fixed the button for viewing espionage reports in the galaxy view not working correctly.

    - Fixed the buddy list on the ACS setup overlay always being empty.

    - Fixed fleets from the M.O.O.N.S. item not ending up in an attack.

    - Fixed task 3 of IPI Directive I not completing correctly.

    - Fixed the flight speed always being 100% when a fleet gets sent on OGame Mobile.

    - Fixed newly created moons not showing up in the planet list.

    Additional info:
    If you are missing planet skins, unfortunately you'll have to delete your account and copy it over again from the live environment. Afterwards they should show up.

    - Fixed lifeform deactivation not working. If this issue still persists for you, deleting your account and copying it again to the PTS should fix it.
    - Fixed ACS not being created if an error was triggered before.
    - Fixed the protected amount missing in the techinfo of several buildings.
    - Fixed combat reports caused by pirates and aliens not displaying the attacker names correctly.
    - Fixed an empty error message showing up when trying to relocate a planet after an attempt that failed due to missing Dark Matter.
    - Fixed the payment window being opened in another tab after clicking on the button for buying something while not having sufficient Dark Matter.
    - Fixed the combat simulator being unable to calculate large combats.
